The hotel was spotless, the rooms were very large we had a family room 1 double and 1 single, bathroom big enough with shower. the breakfast was excellent bacon sausage egg etc plenty of tea/coffee. Singrid is a very nice lady who will cater for everyone's needs. We were given these rooms because i was sharing with my sister with my two kids 3yrs and 18 months and my Mum and Dad were in the room next door. It was great because there was a small seating area down there where we could all chat and the kids could play, and not disturb the other guests. Steve and Sigrid were very helpful and accomadating. Sigrid and Steve were patient in the extreme with my foreign language students and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was beautifully clean, the food was fab and the rooms spacious and comfortable. There were 18 of us and the size of the group did not faze either Sigrid or Steve in the least. They also had families staying at the same time who received the same consideration. They gave advice on places to go, things to do and people to meet. We found an exceptionally friendly Conservative Club in the residential streets behind the hotel who welcomed me and my students with typical northern hospitality. I am very pleased to give this hotel the highest recommendation and will have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends travelling to Blackpool. |

Date: Wednesday, November 05, 2008 Myself, daughter, my friend and her mum all stayed for 2 nights on 24th October 08 and I'm so glad we chose Glenwalden, which we did after reading previous reviews about it. The hotel is in an ideal location away from the main drag and is spotless and your room has everything you need whether you are there for a couple of nights or couple of weeks with TV, Freeview, kettle, tea/coffee, hairdryer, towels, toiletries, etc. Sigrid and Steve are lovely people and most helpful, whether you need help with parking, taxis, information, etc, etc. The food is delicous and in our case as the weather was absolutely horrendous and we didn't want to venture back out in the pouring rain, Sigrid, at very short notice, prepared a lovely dinner for us which we greatly appreciated. We will certainly stay at Glenwalden when in Blackpool again and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and in fact have already done so. If anyone is disappointed then I don't know what they are looking for! |

It was clear on first entering, that the guesthouse was well cared for by Sigrid & Steve. Every room throughout was spotless. Sigrid & Steve are a very organized couple who clearly know how to run an efficient, good quality guesthouse. Nothing was too much trouble & as we were a large group there was always someone wanting a sandwhich or a hot drink, they were only too willing. Whenever we come back to Blackpool we will always try & book into the Glenwalden first. |

| Name: Antoinette Andrews From: Harlow Essex Date: Sunday, August 23, 2009 I came to blackpool with my mum and my daughter for a 5 night stay, on arrival we were greeted by sigrid, she got us settled in our room then invited us down for a cup of tea as we had been travelling half a day. The room was lovely with a sea view and well spaced out, plenty of room for 3 and very comfortable. The room was very clean and the bathroom had plenty of room complete with some lovely soaps and shower gel.Our breakfast was always hot and plenty of choice, the service brilliant. The overall running was very well organised and sigrid, her husband and the staff very polite and helpful at all times. Will definately stay there again and will be recommending this guest house to anyone wishing to visit blackpool. Thankyou so much for a lovely stay sigrid and all the best for the future running of the glenwalden, although the weather wasnt brilliant, at least we had somewhere home from home to stay after a long day. I was responsible for finding a Hotel for our party of 10 ballroom dancing enthusiasts and I have had nothing but praise from the members of our group for finding such a fabulously welcoming place. The Glenwalden is spotless, the breakfast was lovely and Sigrid and Steve made us feel extremely welcome. We loved the cosy little lounge bar (which we retired to every night after our exhausing day of dancing) and the view of the sun setting into the sea every night from the sun lounge was beautiful! We will definately stay here again. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended! |

The B&B is very clean and has definatly got the homely feel about it. Theres a wonderful breakfast always waiting for you in the morning and with a nice walk into Blackpool town centre along the sea front we will definatly be staying there again. Not at the Glenwalden from the warm welcome that we all recived to the steaming hot breckfast this weekend stay was absolutley fantastic.
