The room was fine, the atmosphere was great and the food was absolutely excellent . We both thought all your staff were brilliant(what a change from the usual miserable, unhelpful, couldn't care less attitude you often get nowadays!) The wine, beer and again especially the food was absolutely first class and reasonably priced! We will certainly be back, meanwhile many thanks to you and your staff. |

| Name: Phil and Sue Barnes From: Sutton Coldfield Birmingham Date: Sunday, August 24, 2008 Service with a smile in this lovely country pub with fab food. We have not been for lunch for a few months. Could the food and ambience possibly be as good as on previous occasions? The answer is a resounding 'yes'on all fronts. It was great to see the restaurant so busy. Long may it continue. |

| Name: John Jeffery From: Newcastle under Lyme Date: Sunday, November 30, 2008 This pub is so welcoming, achieved by the warmth coming from the open fire and the hosts themselves. Danny and Henrietta are very professional yet maintain an extremely friendly approach to all the drinkers and diners. The food is of very high restaurant standards and I would not hesitate to give the chef top marks on everything I ate on the premises. My partner enjoyed the haddock, as indeed did I fully enjoy the rump steak. We stayed in one of the pub rooms and I would also like to point out that the rooms were clean, tidy and very good value for money. In the morning Danny was on hand to show off his fantastic cooking skills once again, making us a full English breakfast while using top quality locally sourced produce. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to my friends and will be going back sometime soon. The icing on the cake was the offer of a lift to Ashbourne to collect our car, having had a few drinks the night before. Thankyou Danny and Henrietta for a lovely stay. |
