Known in full as Bolton Le Moors, this Lancashire town is located near the West Pennine Moors. The damp climate in this region was a major influence in the establishment of a cotton industry which led to the towns expansion between the 14th and 19th centuries. More recently, Boltons main employers have moved on from heavy industry to service based industries such as call centres, data processing business and high tech eelctronics.
