The Royal Burgh of Perth (Peairt in Scottish Gaelic) is a large burgh in central Scotland on the banks of the River Tay, it is the administrative headquarters of Perth and Kinross council. Perth was the historic capital of the Kingdom of Scotland, as well as being the county town of the former county of Perthshire.
