Omagh is Irish for The Sacred Plain and is the county town of Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is located where the River Drumragh and the River Camowene meet from the Strule, alsmost at the centre of Ulster. The town is perhaps most infamous for the Omagh bombings - a car bombing by the Real IRA that took place in 1998. Omagh has since moved on and has several places of interest starting with the numerous play areas and parks, the largest of these is Grange Park in the town centre. The Gortin Glens Forest Park has a deer enclosure, waterfalls and lakes among other areas of natural beauty. The Ulster American Folk Park hosts the Bluegrass festival annually along with events over Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July and also has the cottage where Thomas Mellon was born. The towns main sporting pursuits are Gaelic Games, specifically gaelic football with two teams representing Omagh. Omagh St Ednas play at Healy Park and Drumragh Sarsfields which is actually on the outskirts of the town
